The best of the West and the best of the East in Danish divisional league baseball met in Odense to decide the trophy championship. Despite a cold wave that rocked Denmark in the week up until Saturday, the 9-inning final between Odense Wolves and Malmö Pilots was blessed with sunshine and mild temperatures. Malmö’s pitching got rocked for 12 runs in the first two innings, as Malmö ace pitcher, Peter Lucken had to stay home awaiting the arrival of a new family member. Nevertheless, Malmö held the vicious Wolve’s bats to only 3 runs the rest of the game. In the top of the 9th inning, Malmö rallied but fell short. The final score was 15-7 and Odense Wolves won their second consecutive DBC championship! The winning pitcher was Andreas Calov. Baseball Umpires of Denmark’s Nichlas Pedersen and Stephen Bent presided over the day. There were many spectators in attendance with a good portion of small children.
